BIO

Marissa grew up loving Dancehall and Soca, which is very apparent in her songwriting. She has created a unique genre fusing this with modern day pop to bring a new flavour to the music industry.

Marissa is known for “MASHIN UP THE PLACE” when performing live, as her fiery energetic spirit surely raises the roof! She began to develop herself as a singer and songwriter at the SHED studios based in her hometown of Camden Town, North West London. Here she collaborated with other Camden based artists who helped her to find her inner performer and influenced her to create her own kind of music.

In 2013, Marissa became the lead Singer of the Brixton based reggae band RawFire, the band performed at numerous well renowned venues and events including:  the Royal Festival Hall, Oxjam Festival, The Ritzy, The Big Noise Festival, Stratford Theatre, Bush Hall, Brixton Splash Carnival (2014) and many more exciting venues.

Marissa wanted to bring her music back to Camden and began performing at various Open Mic Nights in the area. She was spotted by the band Broken Connexions, who were stunned by her vibe and invited her to join their house band, where she now regularly sings at the iconic venue Jazz After Dark in Soho, which is said to be where Amy Winehouse first began her career.

In 2017, Marissa competed in the Open Mic UK competition, where over 10,000 artists from all over the UK compete in a series of local and regional heats. Successfully reaching the Grand Finals, Marissa performed her single ‘Like A Jamaican’ at the Birmingham NEC Arena and received the 'Showcase Award'.

Since then Marissa has started producing her first EP featuring original songs "Move Your Body Girl", ‘Do it @ Work’ “Like a Jamaican” ft Ras Corey, “Just One Night” and other great tracks.
